Original Vietnam War era 5-inch blade early blade-marked Jet Pilot Survival Knife with original scabbard in scarce unused condition; made by Camillus Knife Co. in Camillus, upstate New York – stamped CAMILLUS N.Y. on ricasso. Camillus manufactured blade-marked 5-inch blade JPSNs from 1961 to 1966 – a scarce type in general and super hard-to-find in unused condition.  See a photo of the legendary triple-ace USAF Brigadier General Robin Olds (1922-2007) sporting this exact type on his pilot vest after a combat mission during the war in Vietnam. More information about the legendary American Jet Pilot Knives – aka the “aircrew survival knife” could be found on this dedicated Wikipedia page. The pommel is signed over the paint and engraved on the hex sides with electro pencil WLB Butler; the scabbard is also inscribed Butler on the honing stone pocket. The knife is about 9-1/2″ / 24.2 cm overall; parkerized blade is about 5″ /12.7 cm. Original factory edge; the tip is intact; no contact marks on the pommel. The saw teeth on the blade’s spine are in excellent condition. Stacked leather washers handle with iron guard and hammer-like pommel; the handle is solid; all parts are tight with no play. Original-issue early all-leather type scabbard with a honing stone in the front pocket are in excellent condition. The scabbard and Norton Pike sharpening stone are unused. The leather is soft and supple still; all original stitching and rivets are intact, original keeper is intact and tight. This Vietnam War 1960s Camillus Jet Pilot Knife / original scabbard set is in excellent overall condition, you will not be disappointed. This great-looking Vietnam War 1960s Camillus Jet Pilot Knife will make an excellent addition to any collection of military blades. This rare early Vietnam War 1960s Camillus Jet Pilot Knife with original leather scabbard and Pike honing stone has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, this set is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos.
