Description Browning Japan Double Edge Damascus Hunter model 3816 knife hand-made by Ichiro Hattori in 1984. Cocobolo handle, custom leather sheath; only 1000 were ever made, SN 0142. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM! Rare vintage Double Edge Damascus Hunter (Browning model #3816) hand-made by the famous Ichiro Hattori circa 1984 in Seki, Japan for Browning Arms Co. In the early 1980th Browning contracted with Ichiro Hattori to produce a limited number of presentation grade fixed blade “double-edged Classic Fighters” with Damascus blades that were also rust-resistant. In response, Hattori created a stainless and nickel-silver 200-layer Damascus pattern that was as beautiful as it was practical. Hattori made the Damascus Classic Damascus Fighter and the Double Edge Damascus Hunter for Browning. The new series were limited to 1000 serial-numbered knives for each type in handsome wood presentation cases. Both types were sold without the sheath and came with the hardwood case only. The Damascus Classic Fighter model was first introduced in 1985 priced at $350 – a ton of money in the 1980s! There is no box or the COA, but this knife comes with a quality handmade leather sheath that was custom-made for the knife. One of the first knives made, this specimen is serial-numbered 0142 (the number is engraved on the polished nickel handguard). The knife is about 7-1/2″ / 19 cm overall; the blade is about 3-5/8″ / 9.5 cm. The blade is SUPER sharp; the needle-like tip is intact. Exotic cocobolo wood handle; handguard, butt plate, and pins are silver-nickel alloy. This attractive limited edition hunter was promptly featured on the cover of the 3rd Edition Gun Digest “Book of Knives” witch came out in 1988 – see the scan attached. This is one of the best and prettiest hunters Ichiro Hattori ever made; the knife is an absolute beauty. I have another 1980s vintage Browning  model hand-made by Ichiro Hattori with the original redwood presentation case included; please take a look. All Hattori knives are of absolutely the highest quality; don’t miss your chance to add this rare limited edition Browning Japan Double Edge Damascus Hunter to your collection! This scarce Browning Japan Double Edge Damascus Hunter has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos.
