Sweden Voluntary Defence (Landstorm) Medal of Merit – 1924

Swedish Federation for Voluntary Defence Education and Training Medal of MeritAwarded since 1922 by the federation and its predecessors. The medal is intended to be awarded in recognition of meritorious work for the Swedish Landstorm. It recognises meritorious service and outstanding personal contributions within the organisation.The Swedish Landstorm (Svenska landstormen) was a militia and territorial defense force established in 1885. Composed mainly of men aged 33–40 who had completed their military service, it served to defend local areas during wartime.The obverse of the medal reads: “För Förtjänster om Sveriges Landstorm” (“For Merits to Sweden’s Landstorm”).
