An original full-size WW2 issue 1939–45 Star Medal, awarded to personnel who completed operational service overseas between 3 September 1939 and 8 May 1945 (2 Sept 1945 in Far East).This bronze campaign star was the first of the Second World War stars to be instituted and was awarded for operational service in the Army, Navy, and Air Force during the conflict. The obverse features the Royal Cypher of King George VI within a central circle bearing the words “The 1939–1945 Star.”The medals were issued unnamed, as standard, and are offered in good condition, complete with a good length of new replacement ribbon in the colours of the Royal Navy, Army and RAF — dark blue, red and light blue.Please note the picture shown is a stock photo, so the actual medal received may vary slightly.
