A first world war casualty medal pair awarded to 7606 Private Samuel Herrington, 2nd Bn. Worcestershire Regiment. British War Medal named to 7606 Pte. S. Herrington. Worc. R. WW1 Victory Medal named to 7606 Pte. S. Herrington. Worc. R. Killed in Action – 27th January 1915 (?)Please note that Private Herrington is listed on Soldiers That Died and CWGC as being killed in action on the 27/1/1915. However, we can only find a medal roll for his BWM and VM and his MIC states that he was only entitled to the pair. Unless there is another MIC for him which we can’t find and a medal roll entry for his star then we believe the date of death given by CWGC and Soldiers That Died must be incorrect. It could well be 1916 instead of 1915. The medals are in good condition.
