A Zulu War medal awarded to Engineer Samuel Joseph Williams, Royal Navy, HMS Boadicea.South Africa 1877-79 Medal (No Clasp) named to S.I. Williams. Engr. R.N. H.M.S. “Boadicea”.Please note his middle initial is I instead of J on the medal.There is a pawnbrokers mark to the obverse but generally the medal is in good condition.After the Zulu war he was asked to leave the RN over an assault on another colleague. He tthen joined the SS Ping Ching, a revenue Gun Boat Cruiser in the China seas in the 1890s where he died on service.Comes with some research.
